As with all combat stats, decreased experience is awarded for slaying mobs spawned by monster spawner blocks.
Serrated Strikes (Active ability) Level 5
This ability allows you to deal AoE (Area of Effect) damage to multiple nearby targets on succesful hit. This AoE attack will do 25% extra damage, and may apply rupture depending on your swords level.
With a sword held in your hand, you can right-click a block to ready your weapon. Use [crouch]+right clicking in special cases, such as when there is an item in the offhand. The ability will then be activated by hitting Mobs/Players. The duration of this effect scales with level, and begins at default 5 seconds.
Limit Break (Active ability, PvP) Level 10
Adds a damage bonus to your swords against armored opponents, capped at 10 damage at maximum level 100. This is intended to make Protection IV players less tanky and for you to feel more powerful in PvP for having a high skill level. Players with no armor on will not be hit with the extra damage. Instead damage is scaled based upon which armor type the opponent is wearing.
Counter Attack (Active ability) Level 15
When blocking with a shield and taking hits from mobs, provides a chance to reflect 50% of the damage that was taken. This ability cannot activate if you have half a heart of life left. The chance to counter attack scales with your swords level up to maximum 30% at mastery level 100.
Rupture (Passive ability) Adds a chance for successful attacks to cause enemies to take bleed damage every two seconds. The bleed effect bypasses armor and lasts until the effect wears off or would cause the target to die (so this damage is non-lethal), whichever comes first. The duration of the bleed is increased by your rupture rank, and caps at 6 seconds with maximum rank 4.
