Second Smelt (Passive ability) Scales with level
Adds a 0.5% chance per level to smelt twice the materials in a furnace. Scales with level to 50% chance at mastery level 100.
Fuel Efficiency (Passive ability)
Increases the burn time of fuel sources (coal, coal blocks, charcoal, wood, blaze rods, etc.) when smelting with each rank:
Fuel Efficiency rank 1 Level 15
Multiplier: 2x
Fuel Efficiency rank 2 Level 50
Multiplier: 3x
Fuel Efficiency rank 3 Level 75
Multiplier: 4x
Understanding The Art (Passive ability) Level 10
Increases the quantity of vanilla experience orbs gained from smelting ores.
Keep in mind that smelting bonuses such as Fuel Efficiency and Second Smelt will not apply unless ores are manually placed into the furnace. Redstone auto-smelters will work, but will not provide skill experience.
If hoppers are used to automatically remove items from furnaces, the vanilla experience Boost will not apply until a smelted item is manually removed, at which time any bonus experience will all be received by the player at once. Some players use this mechanic to "bank" their experience levels until they are needed later.
