Salvage

Smelting is a child skill of fishing and repair, meaning a player's level in smelting is the average of those two. This skill deals with scrapping your old gear for its' components.

Scrap Collector (Passive ability) Level 1

Adds a chance for some crafting materials to be returned to the player when salvaging a piece of equipment. To salvage, right click a gold block while holding a salvageable item. Raw materials will pop out of the salvage anvil.

Only the valuable components of any item can be salvaged, and at lower levels, only undamaged items can be salvaged. The handles of tools and weapons cannot be retrieved.

At least 1 of the component material is guaranteed to be salvaged, unless the item is too damaged to salvage. However, fewer materials will be obtained from a damaged item as compared to an undamaged item.

Arcane Salvaging (Passive ability) Level 10

Adds a chance for enchantments to be returned to the player when salvaging a piece of equipment, in the form of a book. The chance of successfully extracting a full or partial enchantment increases per level. When an enchantment is partially extracted, the book will have a lower level compared to the item from which it was extracted. For example, salvaging a Protection IV iron chestplate may produce a Protection III book.
